M.O.T.S are educational toys and activities which aim to trigger children about the plurality of languages and introduce the concept of diversity in preschools. Created by the designer Juliette Pépin as her Graduation project at the Design Academy Eindhoven, M.O.T.S was developed in close collaboration with Marcel Cachin Preschool (Bobigny, France), teacher Cécile Mohamadi, Seine-Saint-Denis Education Counselor, Elisabeth Schirmer, psychologist Martine Pépin Daniel and the 25 children of Cecile Mohamadi's class. Awarded "Social Design Talent 2016" it will now be introduced to Eindhoven, thanks to the support of Eindhoven City.
From stencils to stamps, children can now play with a multitude of different M.O.T.S games displaying different alphabets and idioms. +++ The games are modular and can be customized according to the chosen language and material. ✏️take a look
Juliette Pépin, M.O.T.S' creator, offers workshops around language awareness to children between 5 and 7 years old. Two types of workshops are now available; On the one hand Activities around languages, their cultural and regional origins. On the other hand Activities around languages' scripts, typographies, and sounds. The workshops are built around an open dialogue between the children and the “instructors” about their vision of languages, their knowledge, and presumptions.interested?
